How do I make readymade chapati?
A memory that everyone in India universally shares is coming home tired one day and having a hot chapati. Whether that’s after playing some cricket, going out shopping, or after a hard day at the office, there’s nothing like some chapati and a hot curry of your choice. Sometimes, it’s not even curry. It can be jam, cheese or mayonnaise, chapatis taste great with everything.
As much a part of India’s rich tradition and culture as anything else, chapatis are a huge part of Indian history. Known as roti in some places, phulka in yet other places, the great taste and the fact that you can have it with a wide assortment of dishes makes chapatis a versatile dish.
Vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, everyone has a favourite combination that involves chapati. Though chapatis are mostly seen as a staple in India, other countries such as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh too have a fondness for this delightful meal.
So how soon do we like our chapati? The sooner the better. Piping hot, fresh and healthy. Having to squish and squash the batter is the hardest part about preparing chapatis. The time it involves and the effort it takes to make delicious chapati makes a lot of people not want to make chapatis. Fortunately iD’s readymade chapati makes it so easy for people to make healthy, homely chapati without the hassle. Whole wheat chapati never tasted so good.
All you have to do is:
- Cut open the pack
- If you are using a microwave, wrap the chapati in a foil and place it in a pre-heated oven at 180 C / 350 F / gas mark 2 for 4 minutes.
- Serve hot with an accompaniment of your choice.
