Impress mom with a step-by-step Mother’s Day menu
It’s that time of the year again to show our gratitude to our mothers. For someone who has been cooking and caring for you your entire life, what better gift than to reciprocate that very same emotion?
This Mother’s Day, give her the best gift you can by cooking her a breakfast she’ll never forget. Fret not if you aren’t really the king of the kitchen. Keep it simple yet brilliant. Start of by considering the dishes you know to cook. Whether it’s eggs benedict, french toast or a simple Idly Vada, make sure you plate it with all the heart you have.
It’s advised that you start early or prep the previous night. Mom’s rarely if ever, sleep in, whether it’s Mother’s Day or not. Set your alarm for the crack of dawn and alleviate the burden of breakfast. Make sure you know your way around the kitchen so you don’t spend too much time looking for things.
Remember that simple can also be exquisite. You don’t have to be a celebrity chef to please your mom. That doesn’t mean that you get too creative on your own. It’s better to have the recipe in front of you and you stick to it.
A slip up made by most rookie chefs in that they don’t keep in mind portions. Ensure that the math on your recipe is accurate. Also, if you’re making a main course, a side and dessert, plate it well. When food looks good, it tastes better too.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that you clean up after you’re done. It wouldn’t be a great Mother’s Day if your mom has to clean up your mess after enjoying the delicious breakfast you cooked for her.
The most important thing to remember is that you have fun. Have fun and your mother will be given the greatest gift ever.
Happy cooking!
